The Place
Liberty Villas 33 is a private villa being built in Yeniköy, a small village 650 metres above the town of Kaş on Turkey's Lycian Coast. The Taurus mountains rise behind it. The Mediterranean lies in front. On a clear morning, you can see the Greek island of Kastellorizo on the horizon.
The altitude defines the experience. At 650 metres, summers run 5–8°C cooler than the coast. The humidity drops away. Evenings cool down properly. You can sleep with the windows open. That is not a small thing in August on the Turkish Riviera.
The Lycian Way — one of the world's great long-distance walking trails — passes within easy reach. Ancient Lycian tombs are carved into the cliffs a few kilometres away. Kaş town, with its restaurants, harbour, and boat trips to Kastellorizo, is a fifteen-minute drive down the mountain.
The Villa
The villa is a new build. Four bedrooms, each with its own shower room. An open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space that opens directly onto the main terrace. A private infinity pool at the terrace edge, where the water line appears to flow into the valley below.
The building uses natural stone, wood, and local materials throughout. The design is contemporary without being cold. Large windows face outward in every direction. The garden is planted with native species — olive, fig, lavender, and sage.
The villa sleeps eight guests across four double bedrooms. It is available for weekly and fortnightly stays and is offered as a completely private rental — no shared spaces, no other guests, no hotel corridors.
The People
Liberty Villas 33 is owned and operated by David Richards and the Lycian Collection team. David has spent years exploring the Lycian Coast — walking the trails, learning the land, and building connections with local guides, chefs, and craftspeople.
The optional experiences on offer — the Lycian Kitchen cookery classes, the Patara sunset drives, the guided Lycian Way walks — come from that knowledge. They are curated by people who live here, not assembled from a brochure.

Why We Built It Here
The coast below Kaş is beautiful. It is also hot, busy, and — at peak season — genuinely exhausting. The mountain villages above Kaş have always offered an alternative. Cooler air, slower pace, wider views.
Most visitors never make it up here. They stay in the beach resorts and miss the Taurus mountain world entirely. Liberty Villas 33 was built to change that — to give guests a base at altitude, close enough to the sea to visit whenever they want, but rooted in the mountain landscape that defines this part of Turkey.
